The Future Under Our Skin
I am very excited about the support I have received from the Dutch National Research Agenda (NWA), MESA+ Institute, and the Techmed Centre, to organize an event entitled The Future Under Our Skin, next April 18th at the Design Lab, University of Twente. More details about the program will follow.
A new paper on bubbles and how to control them
Our work on Gas bubble evolution on microstructured silicon substrates, is now published in Energy and Environmental Science. The result of a fruitful collaboration with colleagues from UC3M and Physics of Fluids group, has detailed the formation, growth and detachment of gas bubbles on electrodes of relevance to many gas-producing processes in industry.
U-Today’s piece on my activities
In a short interview, I was able to share some of my dreams and past activities at the University of Twente. You can read the short text here.
Giving a twist to bubbles
A collaboration with colleagues from the Universidad de Sevilla gives monodisperse bubbles with a twist. Novel swirl flow‑focusing microfluidic device for the production of monodisperse microbubbles. A link to the publication can be found here.
A massive effort pays back!
After organizing an event in 2014, Pathways to Solar Hydrogen Technologies, at the prestigious Lorentz Centre, we managed to coordinate the input of 45+ co-authors and produced a paper recently accepted in Energy and Environmental Science. The link to the paper can be found here.
Flow and bubble formation from pits
The most recent “pit” story, as a collaboration’s result, together with colleagues at TU Darmstad: Bubble nucleation from micro-crevices in a shear flow.
Great news! InkBeams chosen as the Best Tech-Idea by popular vote and Jury from Kijk magazine
Several news-websites replicated the great news, and the printed version of Kijk includes a two-page special report on our idea! From the Kijk magazine website. From the U-today website. From the University of Twente website. A video with an interview (in Dutch) can be seen here:
Best tech-idea of 2017 (popular vote)!
The Dutch magazine KIJK, has nominated my needle-free idea InkBeams, and the popular vote has positioned it at the top of all the selected ideas. Now a group of experts will decide what will happen … Looking forward to it!
